About
I started getting into bullet hell games after watching Idea Channel's Can Bullet Hell Games Be Meditative? I really like the feeling of being a little speck gently weaving my way through a chaotic mess. There's just something really soothing and entrancing about the mechanics of bullet hell games. The aesthetics, however, are usually very stressful! Everything is pulsing music, bright colors, and explosions.
I've been wanting to make a bullet hell game that focuses on those meditative aspects of the genre, clean visuals, calming music, getting rid of the shooting mechanics, and just focusing on dodging and being present in the game without extrinsic rewards like high scores, powerups, and progressions. I threw this prototype together to try out some ideas and see if I can achieve the right feeling. I'm pretty happy with it, and I feel there's real potential for a full game in the future, so I thought I would share it with you all. I hope you enjoy!
